R07: PC race sim gasp....

Well yea, I bought Race 07 along with Race On and STCC expansion packs on Steam, and damn this game is actually quite fun. Driving a WTCC '07 spec Honda Accord, I have done quite a lot of laps on most of the maps now, doing 30 lap track sessions really help you in learning the tracks.

As you can see in the screenshot, they actually have the flag system, unlike in GT5. Yellow signifies danger within the specified section of the track, blue is when a faster car is approaching you, and green is obviously the start of the race.

This game supports up to 24 AI drivers, so when you actually have a standing start with an AI race, things can get extremely messy on the first corner.

Anyway, the physics in this is pretty fun, the only gripes I have with the game is the lack of road feel in the force feedback on the wheel, the limited rotation of the wheel (only 180 degrees out of my wheel's 900) and for some reason the game does not detect the first inch or so of the brakes being pressed down...

God, I need to get the GTR Evolution expansion pack, it has Nurburgring in it!!

GT5: Erm...

Yea that is actually all the pictures I have... So this post won't any pictures....
Anyway, I probably won't have any posted up until at least Tuesday, so yea. I have had so much done in the game that I probably haven't documented, so this post will be about all of this stuff.

I got a new drift car now I think that I will stick to. Not exactly new, since it is the 350z that I had featured already. I slapped a supercharger onto it though and how it has more than enough torque to perform on par with the IS-F... And that has around 100BHP more, which is really impressive.

I think I will also concentrate more on track racing, since I know I am not that great at. And what I mean by that is removing all HUD from the screen and braking only using scenic cues. Of course, this means that I will have to race with the HUD on in order to understand all the braking timings, but I will gradually remove them.

Lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife has also become a focus as well, since it is extremely hard to get a clean lap while under pressure. I can do half of it without the HUD, but once I get pass the carousel, I am pretty much clueless.

Anyway, I'll try and feature all the cars that I get... I have been getting loads though, purely because of the insane rewards from seasonal event races.

GT5: Nissan SKYLINE Coupe 370GT Type SP '07

Did this drift event a while ago now. Last time I checked I was 8xxth? Anyway, this car is quite low powered, stock transmission is pretty nice, and I do end up pushing the car's angle through momentum instead of brute force. Which is more satisfying I guess.
I won't be playing until at least Tuesday. I have exams.... Which is gay... In fact, I haven't played on the PS3 in a while. I've been turning it on, but not actually playing it. Oh well.
Anyway, I'll explain about the car in more detail when I have more time.

GT5: Nissan Fairlady Z Version S (Z33) '07

Well I had to get this car one time or another. Paint is called Gloss Black, which is nothing special. Exactly what I wanted haha. Almost everything else visual is stock apart from the rims, exhaust (performance) and the ride height (performance as well). Oh, rims were custom painted. No idea what specific colour though.

^Obligatory sideways shot.

GT5: TEASERS

Since I botched the IS-F, I set off to look for another drift car. Not too hard to do, since I already had a preference of longer saloon type cars. It was just finding the right power type. Since the IS-F is the most powerful Japanese saloon out of all the premium cars, I had to find something that has less power. Not all too bad though, less power means better handling in slower corners.

Also decided to get my first track car. Hint: It's a GT500 class car from the Japanese Super GT.

GT5: Special Stage Route 5 Part 3

Plenty of backside touching going on, if you know what I mean. The walls on this track are like magnets pulling the car towards them. Good thing I didn't hit any of them though.

EDIT: The picture above... I think that is what I think it is. Weird skid mark glitch.....

And the final shot of this large picture set. Next up, some Z.

GT5: Special Stage Route 5 Part 2

The death of my IS-F... I added an engine stage 1 kit into the car so its botched up now...
Anyway, I can easily turn this into a track car instead, and if I really can't find another drift car, I'll get a new IS-F.

Oh, and there is one more part for this picture set. Stay tuned.

^Lockin' up the rear for some sideways action!

GT5: Special Stage Route 5 Part 1

I probably went overboard with this picture set, so I think I will be splitting this into either two or three parts. Anyway, enjoy.

GT5: Mazda RX-7 (FD)

And back to Kyoto, where the excessive cherry blossom flies around within the virtual world of Gran Turismo. Anyway, here is something a bit more old school compared to all the other cars I have posted. Before you ask about the colour, its more of a nostalgia thing for me rather than trying to find the best looking one. Aaron probably remembers my FD from ID4. Ha..

^These rims are amazing.

GT5: Paint swap

I didn't really like the stock silver paint on my NSX, so I decided to repaint it with a blue from a Volvo C30. Turned out quite nicely...

This set clears up my backlog of pictures, so I guess I will have to get more.

GT5: Trial Mountain Reverse drift trial

The layout that the trial gave me was kind of odd, since I only drove the track forwards. It certainly made me see the track in a completely different way though. This drift trial ends at 13/01/2010, and I am ranked 9xxth. So yea........... I should have this in the bag =D

GT5: My Honda NSX Type R '02

This car is usually overlooked because for the lack of power it has. For a mid engined sports car, sure. In reality, would you really be able to use ALL of the power you are given in a super car? Probably not. The NSX has the perfect balance between price, ride quality, handling, and most of all, enough power for you to push the car 100%.

GT5: Drifting in UKO_DriftNinja's Lounge

This was quite a while ago actually, probably been a month or something...
Anyway I think I need to completely retune my IS-F, while I can get some pretty awesome angles out of it, the handling is extremely twitchy.

I'll see.
